Restaurants to Recommend

Sonning Mill

This venue offers a meal and theatre package in a lovely setting by the river . A converted saw mill, now a restaurant and intimate theatre. The buffet main course was very good with plenty of choice.Desserts and coffee were served at the table. My dessert of fresh berries and ice cream was memorable. Following our relaxed meal we proceeded into the theatre and saw a very funny Irish Farce.

Restaurants to reccommend

Toby carvery Old Windsor. A good roast dinner. Always a favourite and our waitress was very helpful, providing separate bills for each of us on our table. We didn't try the dessert menu, being too full!

A book borrowed

The Legacy of Elizabeth Pringle by Kirsty Wark

I borrowed this from a friend at my singing group and was warned it was sad. Indeed it made me cry. A beautifully crafted and haunting tale of life, friendship, love and family relationships through the eyes of two women of different generations. A memorable book.

6. The girl in a box series books 1 to 3 by Robert J Crane

This may not be great writing, some reviewers on Amazon hated it, but a vast majority loved it as did I. This was very compulsive reading and left me wanting more. Be warned, there are seven more books in the series that are not free!

5. The book of deacon by Joseph Lallo

I loved this book. The author is a great storyteller, with engaging characters and an absorbing and wide ranging story. Great fantasy writing. Left me wanting to read the next book in the series.
